Read moreBen Busko as a young boy, in his actual garden on Long Island, New York. Ben diligently grew 100's of types of flowers and herbs from seed. He would start the seedlings in the very beginning of each year. And every year his garden would continue to grow larger and larger. It turned out, the parallels between a garden and a business, including hard work, patience, persistence, and perseverance became lessons learned and practiced, as a young man.
Ben’s first store, opened when he was 19 is nestled in the rolling hills of Long Island's fabled Gold Coast and steps from the harbor of Oyster Bay, on the North Shore. Seconds from President Teddy Roosevelt's "Summer White House," Sagamore Hill and the United States first Audubon Sanctuary (dedicated to President Roosevelt for his dedication to developing the National Parks System, preserving our Country's most invaluable locations, for future generations to be able to enjoy).
Ben Busko installed a vertical garden AKA "green wall" on the 3 rear sides of his Huntington, Long Island store. This was facing one of the town's largest municipal parking lots, and heralded by the Town as an achievement.
This location indulges you in the historic cast-iron facades with cobble stone streets romanced on countless television series and in silver screen blockbusters. Located in the heart of SoHo at the intersection with West Broadway, in the Historic District in New York City. Soho has an excitement and experience only New York City can deliver.
Growing up in The Three Villages, Ben Busko grew Ben’s Garden from a small booth at Gallery North’s annual art show. He dreamed as a young boy of having a retail Store in Stony Brook Village Shopping Center, designed by business magnate and philanthropist Ward Melville.
